Nov 25th Permaculture Calgary Guild Potluck

Dear Friends and Community Group Members,

We we have been working hard to get a pot luck organized for November 25th from 6:00pm - 9:30 pm at the Mission Community Hall (2201 Cliff Street SW). We want to get a feel for where you (the membership) wants to see this group go! For example what sort of events do you want the executive to organize, what sort of benefits would you like to see, how often would you like to meet ect. The evening is going to go like this;

5:30 - 6:00 - Set Up
6:00 - 6:45 - Connection exercise and ice breaker
6:45 - 7:00 - Announcements and group news
7:00 - 8:00 - Dinner
8:00 - 8:20 - Clean up
8:20 - 9:30 - Crowd sourcing the direction of the group

If you are interested in attending please bring a dish with all of the ingredients on a cue card, your own dishes, cutlery, drinking cups and beverages. Everyone is welcome, bring one bring all lets all pack the hall!

You might be wondering what the executive has been up to over the last few months. Well believe it or not we have been working hard to get the group organized so that we can start meeting on a monthly basis. Here is what we have been doing:

  • We have sorted out our finances and they look great, we will fill you in on them at the next meeting.
  • We have set up a permablitz committee which has been working on website content and flow of the permablitz.
  • We have set up a benefits committee which is working on getting more benefits for members.
  • We have six businesses that are offering discounts on products and services that we use and we are working on getting more. So far this committee is a one woman show and she could use some help if you are keen on volunteering
  • Adrian has been working hard on the website structure and soon we will be unveiling the new look and logo of the group. Exciting!
  • We have made a list of committees that need to be started to streamline the group and we will be talking about that at the next meeting. If you are interested in volunteering for one or more of them we would love to hear from you!
  • We organized a Sustainability for Breakfast event which was super successful!
  • Adrian and Stacy plus a whole bunch of dedicated co-ordinations and harvesters ran an amazing Calgary harvest this year! Great work!
  • Because it has taken us so long to get organized we have decided to extend everyone’s membership for an additional year so that you get the true taste of what this group is going to be able to offer. WOOT!
